Nathan came into the software world via high-speed CNC manufacturing. This started him down the path of obsessing over failure models and the real world impact of program decisions. This mental model helped inform Nathan's current work in distributed systems engineering and architecture. During his tenure as Principle Consulting Architect at Basho, he honed his skills by tackling the distributed application and data modeling demands of many of Basho's Fortune 50 customers. After a short stint at Snapflow, where Nathan worked on scalable machine learning methods, Nathan landed at Visa as the Lead System Architect for the Open VisaNet initiative.
